While reading Semrau's article the sentence that I found to represent his point would be, " Use what you have until it can no longer function. Then it's time to recycle." I believe that this represents his point because throughout the article Samrau talks about his careers that he has been involved in through the course of his life. Finally in the article it shows that the final thing he is going to do is go to medical school at Harvard and become a surgeon. But there is a twist. He is really going as a Cadaver to donate and recycle his body. Therefore this sentence is perfect. Samrau had a good life, he used his knowledge to do all he wanted in life, and then realized that he was at an age when he knew he could not accomplish any more in his life. With that realization he dice did to recycle is body for the use of others. The way that Semrau kept the news that he was going to be a Cadaver till the end was just genius. I thought that it was a good way to keep the reader interested in the article and then finally present them with information that gave a shock at the end. As a result the intent of the essay for me was to show that we should recycle our bodies. When we die it is not like we need organs or other body parts any more, so we should be generous and offer them to people who may actually need them for diseases to replace organs or other purposes.
